I've tried to use Import Media on Umbraco 4.7. I created a folder structure in my import directory looking the following:
- Import
-- Category 1
---- Gallery 1
---- Gallery 2
-- Category 2
---- Gallery 3
---- Gallery 4
The package imports all 4 galleries properly, but looking at the Media section, the folder structure (categories) is missing. Shouldn't import media also create "Folder" items for my import sub directores in order to retain my import folder structure?
Good and bad news. Good news is that I can now replicate the issue, bad news is that it's obviously not the intended behaviour of the package. I will need a little time to update the package for 4.7 which is the bad news. I will try and get on it as quickly as I can but I am snowed under with client work at the moment so don't want to make any cast iron promises.

I'll try and do some testing and come back to you. I'm assuming the folder you selected for import was "Import"?
Hi Simon, thanks for your reply.
I'm afraid I forgot to mention that between Import and the categories in my folder structure, there was another level "Galleries":
- Import
-- Galleries
---- Category 1
------ Gallery 1
------ Gallery 2
---- Category 2
------ Gallery 3
------ Gallery 4
For import, I selected the "Galleries" node.
Best Regards
So that I am clear and able to replicate what you did, which directory did you tick for import?
Hi,
I've chosen the second level "Galleries"
Best Regards
OK, I will try my best to look at it for you today.

@Simon: okay, thanks for your efforts!
If you are comfortable building it from the source I can point you towards the part you need to amend as an interim measure?
is working on a reply...
