You've done a super job with this; very slick.
I'm just puzzled about the scenario in which it would be used since the treeview is already visible and expanded. I must be missing something obvious!

There are times when I (or clients) hide the treeview to give them large viewing (clicking divider bar). This allows them to still navigate the pages.
It also allows you to quickly see where you within the content if you have many nodes. (via the breadcrumb)
