It's weird, as I've not heard about this happening elsewhere. I guess my question is...
The only thing I can think of is that the NuGet install wasn't successful, could you check if the "Our.Umbraco.NestedContent.dll" is in the "/bin" folder?
I actually replied to your message ..but I must have forgot to post the reply. lol
Here's what I've got:
- VS 13 Web
- List item
- Fresh install of Umbraco (7.2.8 & 7.3.0) via Nuget
- Default install (Fanoe)
I've tried the Nested Content install a few different ways...
via Backoffice
via Backoffice local install
via Nuget
I get the same effect each time. ...After it's supposed to be finished installing the message appears saying it will now 'refresh' at which point it goes ...and goes ...and goes. I've let it run over an hour with no change (spins/hangs). ...the backoffice will not run.
The frontend website will run, but not umbraco.
To answer your question - yes - "Our.Umbraco.NestedContent.dll" is installed (appears in the bin directory).
Thanks very much for getting back to me. I am happy to try and make a video of all of these steps from start to finish so you can see what I see. ...happy to Skype and share my screen as well. whatever will help as I'm very keen to use your Nested Content package.
When I start my new project, the default is .NET 4.5.
By installing Umbraco 7.3.0 via NuGet, I assume I am not actually 'building' Umbraco as it expands/unpacks the directories itself via the umbraco dlls that nugget places in my new project??
the only other thing I am wondering is if it matter that my default project that I install Umbraco into is .NET 4.5. Would that affect Nested Content??
The other issue looks more like a missing file that it wants to render after a process comes back empty. (just a guess).
My issue is that I can't get Umbraco backoffice to run at all. It hangs/spins straight after installing Nested Content. Removing the nested content dll gets the backoffice working again. ...No error messages.
If you don't have the same problem or can't reproduce it then I will create a video for you to watch. Failing that I am happy to Skype.Share my screen with you live.
Hangs After Installation Refresh
Hello,
I've been having trouble installing Nested Content 2 with Umbraco 7.28. and Umbraco 7.3
I am using my local pc to develop with.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything I can do to provide more information?
Many thanks, Daniel
I have tried this with many fresh installations of Umbraco 7.2.8 and 7.3.
Please help
Hi Daniel,
I'd replied on the GitHub issue tracker, (not sure if you saw?)

Hi Daniel,
Someone else has raised an issue with Nested Content on Umbraco 7.3. So not sure if it's a similar issue yet, (as their issue threw a different error)
I'll take a look at trying the same steps as you've outlined and let you know how it goes.
Thanks,
- Lee
Hi Lee,
I don't think they are the same issue IMO.
The other issue looks more like a missing file that it wants to render after a process comes back empty. (just a guess).
