Some content in Perplex elements sometimes disappear. In smart preview the content is still there and also on the website, but if we like to change the content, it is not possible to access it because the perplex element is empty.
In this case, we grab the content (html) from the website, fill it in again in the perplex element, save and publish. Surprisingly the content isn't duplicated on the website and then we can edit it normaly.
Does anybody else has seen this behavior and found out what the reason is?
I could look into this but I need some more information.
Which property editor is used for the property that has the disappearing content? For example, is it the built-in Rich Text Editor or some custom property editor?
Are you sure the content is actually gone or somehow just invisible due to some CSS issue?
Do you see any console errors when the content has disappeared?
Is there any way to reliably reproduce this issue? If not, roughly how many times does it occur? If it's very rare it will be hard for me to try and reproduce.
Which versions are you using of
Umbraco
ContentBlocks
Please make sure you are at least on the last version of ContentBlocks (2.1.5)
We could find the problem most of the time in connection with the grid property and we use the build-in RTE tinymce.
We haven't thought about that it could be a CSS issue yet. I checked it and I couldn't find the content in the source code, beside the part of the smart view. I can only see the empty Perplex content block or rather an empty column block in this block.
There are no errors in the browser console
We have several Umbraco projects, but use mainly 9.5.0 and 9.5.1. Perplex.ContentBlocks v.2.1.4.
We cannot really reproduce the issue. I saw this behavior very often in standard site like impressum and privacy, which we have already in our core project to start new projects. But now we have seen the issue also in a project, which is already online and it's happened suddenly in a custom content site (also grid).
In this project I could show you the issue at this time. As long our client doesn't force us to fix it respectively to recreate the content.
I hesitate to update to 2.1.5 on a running online project, but i will update our core project and check it.
Perplex content missing in Umbraco backend
Hi
We have a minor, but annoying issue.

Thanks Jan
