I've started using this package, which is awesome! but I'm now looking to also translate static labels. These labels with their translations are setup as dictionary items in the backoffice.
Is polyglot able to handle these in someway? maybe there's an api? I've had a look but couldn't see anything obvious.
The site is using 1.6 (stuck on umb 6 unfortunately)
Dictionary items do indeed work with the package but you need to set the culture on your templates if they do not. I guess it gets reset by default by Umbraco or .NET.
You can do this with the "Set page culture macro". Have a look at the documentation of v1.6 (pdf file under "Documentation" tab).
Using dictionary for translations?
Hi there,

Cheers Ismael.
Hi Ismael and thanks for using Polyglot! :)
Dictionary items do indeed work with the package but you need to set the culture on your templates if they do not. I guess it gets reset by default by Umbraco or .NET.
You can do this with the "Set page culture macro". Have a look at the documentation of v1.6 (pdf file under "Documentation" tab).
If it still does not work, let me know.
Cheers,
Dimitri
Thanks! I had completely overlooked that macro as I thought it was doing something else.
Cheers Ismael.
You're welcome! Come to think of it, I should make it more clear that this bit also affects the dictionary. Thanks for the feedback!
Cheers,
Dimitri
