There is not tabs on "Public" folder when I log on as a writer or an editor, but says "welcome Username." I think writers and editors should be able to see the tabs. Would you consider adding tabs here?
The reason why there aren't any tabs on the Public folder is by nature: its actually the root node of a secondary media tree (and thus behaves just like the Media root folder of the primary media tree).
Is there a particular reason you want the tabs displayed on that node? As editor/writer you should not be able to change any properties of the public folder I think.
If it's the thumbnail overview you are looking for I would just recommend that you create subfolders directly in the Public folder, it will also keep things more organized ;-)
Thank you for your reply. I looked at the Media tree. Yes, the Mediaroot folder does not show any tabs. But an Administrator can see tabs including "Contents" in Public folder. Editors and Writers do not see the tabs on Public folder. A Contents tab is very useful because one can see all the uploaded images.
This brings up a couple of points, and possible upgrades in the future versions.
why editors and writers see tabs in nodes under Public folder if they cannot edit.
why don't the root Media folder shows Contents tabs. It is convinient to be able to see all uploaded images. (I guess it is difficult to just to show content tab, and hide others).
Public media tree is a very useful tool, and I would keep using it as it is. I hope this is a useful comment for future releases.
No tabs on Public folder when I login as writer or editor.
