    Latest version

    Hi Nigel,

I wondered if it was possible to get hold of the latest source code? I've noticed a few links on Umbraco forum posts to different places, but it doesn't seem to be up to date.

The repo appears to be here: https://bitbucket.org/info_yoyocms/umbraco-tag-manager-v7 However, it hasn't been updated since January 2017.

Another thread ( https://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/tag-manager/tag-manager/86842-feature-request-move-tags-between-groups-update-tag-group-of-a-tag ) references this URL:

https://bitbucket.org/info_yoyocms/umbraco-tag-manager-v7.5 However, this one says access denied.

Please can you point me to the latest source? There's a bug that I'd like to fix and I'm happy to provide a pull request once I have the source. A zip file of the source would be fine!

    Cheers

    Steve

Hi all (just in case anyone is still following this thread)

I have just released an updated package that is compatible with V7.7

Sorry for the time to get it done.

    Cheers Nigel

Hei Nigel! I am considering using this package in a umbraco version 7.5. I do have some questions?

    • Where do i find the latest source code for the package. Bitbuckets links do not work anymore.
    • Do you have nuget support for this package, if not do you see any issues related to packaging the source code for nuget?

    Thanks in advance

    Ali

    Hi Ali

Yes sorry, I rebranded myself and in the course of doing that changed the bit-bucket URLs - didn't think about public repos... oops !

    Here are the links https://bitbucket.org/nigel_optimised/umbraco-tag-manager-v7.5/src/master/

    https://bitbucket.org/nigel_optimised/umbraco-tag-manager-v7.7/src/master/

In terms of nuget, there is no reason it can't be packaged, I simply haven't learnt how / made the time to do it.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers Nigel

    Hi Nigel!

Thanks for the info. If it's okey with you. I would like to contribute with enabling nuget support.

It looks to me that you have seperate repo for each umbraco version. Is there any particular reason for that?

    Cheers Ali

    Hey Ali

That would be awesome in respect of Nuget...

The different versions listed are due to Umbraco changes - I felt it was simpler to just create a new solution when the package was no longer compatible with the latest Umbraco version.

What do you need from me re Nuget ?

    Cheers, Nigel

    Hi Nigel

I think in regards to maintainability of the project, it would be nice to gather all essential parts in a core project and only seperate the diffs in branchs or tags.

When it comes to Nuget, i just forked the project. I would need to verify all the neccassary files of the package and then introduce a manifest file for nuget. I will let you know when i get that far :)

Hi Nigel and Ali, have you continued the project of porting Tag Manager into nuGet? Is it possible to see the last repository with release 5.1? This package is very useful, I used it very often and now I have tried to install on Umbraco version 7.14.0. There is a strange behavior (the tag list has a lot of duplicate) so I would be happy to give my contribute to the project. Have a nice day

I've seen the duplicate tag issue before too... has that been addressed yet?

    Hi John

No sorry I haven't update the Tag Manager package yet, and your note helps to prick my conscience... :-)

So stay tuned, these kiwi wheels are turning slowly at the moment, but I do intend getting the package updated soon.

    Hi Nick

No sorry, life has priorities and unfortunately Tag Manager isn't at the top of that pile currently.

I would honestly like to have provided a more positive answer, but I simply haven't had the spare time to invest in re-writing for V8.

    Cheers

    Nigel & Nick,

We might need something like this for our upcoming project and I guess that we're better of improving on your package than writing a new thing from scratch.

    Two questions for you Nigel:

    1. Are you open to make us collaborators here on our?
    2. Would you be OK with moving the source over to github to make the co-work experience better? If you don't want to move it we can create a repo in our account and just commit the source if you're fine with that?

    Cheers!

    Hi Markus

Thanks for your note and yes, any help would be greatly appreciated in getting the Tag Manager package rewritten into V8.

More than happy to add collaborators on "our" - I have updated the package to be open for collaboration but can't see anything to indicate the change was successful. Are you able to please check / confirm.

There is a repo on Github which I never used so have made you a collaborator on that - you should have received a notification.

So in terms of making headway:

    1. I am very much self taught and so don't am not sure of the best structure for a github repo - if you have a "template" to work from that would be awesome.
    2. Ideally the package needs to be created as a nuget package too - I have not looked into that aspect - trust this is something that can be kept in mind.
    3. The code for the package is quite simple and I am sure the current source can be used as a reference / starting point - any thoughts on the best way forward ?

Cheers - really appreciate your offer of helping out.

Comfirming the Tag manager package is now in V8 land thanks to Melvin (https://our.umbraco.com/members/id:277065/). Massive relief to see this done, I simply cannot thank him enough for doing so.
