any plans to integrate Places API?

    Hi Jonathan, great package.

is there any plan to add a 'show places near this central location' function.

e.g. admin would add multiple Google PlaceTypes [cafe, resaurant, bar]

markers would be added around the central location to show ' eating out in this area' etc using Places API

    hope that makes sense

    Hi Ferg

In my ignorance, I was unaware of this feature. To aid my understanding, I've tried to break it down.

When creating a new Terratype datatype: Would select from a predefined list which PlaceType items the map should be interested in; Cafes, Restaurants, etc. Maybe select the icon used for each PlaceType.

When editing Terratype as a Content Editor: No change

When rendering Terratype maps on Front-End:

    • Option 1: Any relevant PlaceTypes near any icons would be displayed as extra icons as map is loaded. This could make the map very crowded, suggest using smaller icons to represent PlaceTypes.

    • Option 2: When the user clicks the icon, it would display all the relevant PlaceTypes nearby.

    • Option 3: Have a button located on the map to switch on/off relevant PlaceTypes

As a feature, I can see this as entirely possible, and can imagine a sizable few would enjoy it, but for my current road-map for Terratype, its new providers (OpenStreetMap, Bing) that I have next to do. So it wouldn't be happening for months/year, except if a paying customer asked for it, and then like magic it would appear very quickly, otherwise sorry - but I wish to re-iterate, cool that you brought this up, as I love to add features like this, time permitting.

    Jonathan
