    Error occured when trying to set target site for new set (2.4.13)

    Just installed Translation Manager 2.4.13, and trying to set up some translation sets.

    When I select my target site, the backend API call errors, and I get stuck.

    The error is

    Anyone know a solution? It's not all sites in the solution that errors like this. I've been able to create 3 sets, but I need 2 more.

    Hi,

    is there a bit missing from the top of the erorr ? (like Object not found or something) -

    i will have to see if i can replicate on the sites that fail :

    • do they have culture & hostname settings ? (if so what cultures do they have set?)
    • are you using multiple sites or all languages in the same site (vorto?)

    Arh sorry, its a null exception

    "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." ExceptionType: "System.NullReferenceException

    Only two of the sites have culture & hostname settings, and they have all languages in the same site (using Vorto)

    Hi.

    • Do you have a list of those cultures ?
    • Also the languages installed in the site ?

    and Umbraco version too if you can (looking at the source there where are few changed to these methods, so i might need to install a specific version to recreate)

    For the site in question it is probably to do with the language set in the Culture - Language box enter image description herebox

    I suspect its a specific language setup or something that is triggering the error inside Umbraco, but not sure what - so good if you can also get this info for the breaking site.

    I got one of the sites working now. Don't know why :(

    But the last one also fails when setting the source site.

    Culture and hostnames settings for that site is empty (as it is for 2 other sites, that worked)

    I have en-US, da-DK, de-DE and fr-FR installed as languages

    languages

    Umbraco version is 7.15.7

    I suspect internal Umbraco shenanigans :(

    We pass the content id to the GetCulture extension method (see https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/blob/v7/dev/src/Umbraco.Web/Models/ContentExtensions.cs#L21)

    (we null check the content before it is sent)

    if you follow the logic of that extension methoid, i am not sure where the null can be coming from, and it should always return 'something' (the defaultCulture is the fall back)

    I will have a look in more detail, but not-working then working makes me suspicious its some caching or something :(
