    troble while installing on server

    Request error: The URL returned a 404 (not found): 
    /app_plugins/u7dtg/propertiesPrevalues/textbox.html

    i am new to umbraco so please bare with me.

    I am having a lot for trouble installing this package in Umbraco 7.01 on server. the package is working fine on my local machine but not on server. Firstly, everytime i upload this package i am not able to see new data type. if i manually upload the files in the plugins folder, i am able to see the content grid data type but everytime i add a column the above mentioned error pops up.

    Kindly suggest.

    Hi Rajiv and welcome to our :)

    Judging from the error above I suspect that some files are perhaps missing on the server. Could you try to deploy the /umbraco and /umbraco_client folder to the server again?

    If it still keeps acting like that then try having a look at the /app_data/logs file to see if it reveals any useful information. Also make sure that permissions have been setup properly.

    Jan,

    Thank you for your support, i really appriciate it. As per my problem, let me tell you the package is performing great on my local machine but i am having trouble running it on server.

    I do not have ftp or web deploy option on the server so i followed the following steps to create the site.

    Using package on fresh installed website:

    1. Installed web matrix and created umbraco cms site.
    2. Gave the folder full access to Network services and modify access to IIS users
    3. After installing umraco on chrome i logged in.
    4. Uploaded U7Grid zip file using install local packages.
    5. At first Content Grid was not visible in the data types, and no files were visible on uninstall package tab also.
    6. Then i resolved that by uploading Package files manually to App_Plugins/Plugins folder.
    7. Now both content grid data type and list in uninstall package tab got populated
    8. When i create new data type after selecting Content Grid the error shows up. and there is no resove after that, everytime i click on add column the error comes.
    Using Package on Website created on Local:
    1. So after adding the package to my website on local, every thing is working fine, i am able to add columns, text boxes , buttons etc.
    2. I published the file locally using .net 2012.
    3. Zipped the folder and shifted that to server.
    4. After setting a website on IIS, i copied the files in the folder.
    5. Checked all the access to folders, and got the site running.
    6. The output on the website was running all well as it was set up on local.
    7. Then i logged in umbraco, i went to the content section of the page where content grid data type was running(this was working fine on local)
    8. I got the same error, if there were 3 columns of textboxs, i error box opened three times.
    9. FYI, the images thumbs were also not visible using this method, i had to upload all the images again.
    I am not able to understand where the fault is, if you can understand what i am doing wrong, then kindly direct me towards it.

    Hi Rajiv,

    Please try creating the site under main site section in IIS.
