uComponents Multi-node tree picker broken in Safari?

Can anyone get the uComponents Multi-node tree picker to work in Safari?

The tree is not loading for me. Just the "Content" node is visible, no child nodes. Works in all other browsers.

Can anyone confirm this, or maybe even have a solution?

Same issue here, although in all browsers that I have tested. Oddly enough, not on our live server, but only on my dev machine. Each instance of the MNTP throws an Error 500:
