At this moment you can only test multiple pages or document types. In these types of variants you add in css or javascript to test something. If these tests result in a winner you will have to manually update your css / javascript / html with your changes. As soon as we can test a single page in the single page (where you can edit properties in the Umbraco-way) it will be possible to automatically merge the winner into the default. Unfortunately Umbraco 8.7 (scheduled for august) needs to come out first, before we can finish of this single page test.
