Is there a Umbraco 8 release planned for the near future?

I'm using your Umbraco Forms on Steroids plugin for an intranet. It works great! I would like to upgrade to Umbraco 8 but this plugin is essential for me.
Are there any plans to make it U8 compatible in the near future?
we do not have it planned at the moment. We want to bring it to v8 at some time, but we're still hoping that some of the features are going to be part of the Forms Core so we do not have maintain it any longer.
But, the source code is open, so you can always try to build it for yourself against v8. I don't think that much have changed.

Thanks for your reply. It would of course be very nice if your functionality were to be added in the Forms Core, but I don't have the feeling that Umbraco is developing much further on Umbraco Forms. Hardly any new functionality has been added recently (if I am not mistaken).
I will check the source code, perhaps it is not that hard to make it suitable for U8.
Any specific features you are missing in Umbraco Forms? Since the package was developed the ability to copy forms has been added to Umbraco Forms core. Furthermore in Umbraco Forms 8.7 new features like reCaptcha v3 was added and many bug fixes.
Also notice in latest versions forms are stored in database by default. With this is probably sometime later will be possible to structure forms in folders, but will require changes to Umbraco Deploy as well: https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco.Forms.Issues/issues/75

Forms in folders is actively being worked on at the moment by the way, so hopefully should come in the next few weeks,
