I am the project manger for our website. We were able to successfully install Widget Grid, but it does not show up in the render control fro the datatype. There is no log file to show why. No error in other words.
Do you have any thoughts on what might be happening and whether we might get it to work in 4.71?
You could always install it manually. If you extract the zip file, you'll have a dll and an aspx file. Just rename the dll to Our.Umbraco.WidgetGrid.dll and drop it in your bin folder, and rename the asp file to treePicker.aspx and drop it in /umbraco/plugins/WidgetGrid.
Widget grid should then be available as render control.
Here is how my developer responded. He said that he had previously done all you had recommended in your earlier post.
"The installer already installed the treePicker.aspx in /umbraco/plugins/WidgetGrid and the Our.Umbraco.WidgetGrid.dll. The Widget Grid shows up as installed in the Installed Packages. The problem is that the Widget Grid does not show up in the Render control dropdown in a new Data Types."
