Save/Publish Button Disappears & Login Whitescreening

I am using Umbraco 7.2. I have experimented with the 0.3.0 version of Backoffice Tweaking package for hiding tabs.

The hiding of tabs works well, but there is an undesired side effect: it frequently makes the Save/Publish button disappear after pressing it.

I suspect that BT 0.3.0 hides this button by default and then makes it visible again when it has determined that it needs to be according to the rules from the config file.

The button disappears too many times in order to make it worth it. I have had to disable the package.

Ever since installing BT 0.3.0, my login screen had become rather unreliable. It frequently takes forever to load. Then, when I try it in another tab, it loads fine. Whether the login screen loads alright is for any given try, is completely unpredictable.

Since uninstalling BT 0.3.0, this problem went away immediately. Therefore, I strongly suspect it was caused by BT 0.3.0.

    Hi Jay

Could seem like this package is not quite ready for production yet based on your discoveries. Thanks for sharing :)

But it is also stated on the package page that in some scenarios the "Save and publish" button could disappear - Quote from the page "IMPORTANT: If you hide tabs or poperties with validations then it may happen that users will not be able to save the content." - Don't know if it fits in your case?

    /Jan

    Hi Jay,

As Jan said, the package is still a beta version and need more testing. But I try to fix the bugs as soon as people report them.

Could you please upgrade to the version 0.4. That should fix the bug. If it continues to happen, could you please tell me what browser are you using.

"If you hide tabs or properties with validations then it may happen that users will not be able to save the content" means that if a field that is mandatory is empty and not visible, then Umbraco will require the user to input a value for this field. But since the field is hidden, the user will not be able to input a value, and therefore will not able to save the content node.
