Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to set this package up so that a user doesn't require a login to be able to create topics or add replies in topics?
We would still require to have admin users who could obviously moderate what is posted.
You could with some changes. A post/Topic requires a member id. So you could create a member called guest I suppose, and anytime a post is made by someone in a guest role then assign to that member? It would take a bit of thinking about and a number of changes.
Just thinking out loud here, so there is a dependency on posts/topics with members. But how do I change the UI so that the options to post and create topics are always visible? I could in theory write some code that hooks into the event and then assign to a member (is that possible in an easy manner?).
Or, the other way I see it is if I could automatically log a user in as a guest and then any actions would be assigned to them.
Is it possible to post as guest (i.e. no login)

Hi Lee,

There are permissions on the category. Set guest permissions to be able to post and create a topic.
is working on a reply...
