I would like to know your opinion about a new project we are about to start.
We have been using Umbraco in our projects, therefore, we are searching for a plugin for it that better fits with our requirements.
We will develop a Recreational Vehicles booking system. Some of our requirements are :
Set a seasons calendar. These seasons will be used to apply
differents prices for each vehicle.
Set multiple extras available to include in the booking. Each one of
these extras could have multiple types of price (Eg: price per
booking, price per day)
We already have installed Merchello, but we have some issues like:
We Can't set our custom price fields on product. We have just two types : Sale price and Default Price. We can extend content by using custom document type, but then we get the prices fields repeated for each language.
We can't customize the fields from products list.
There is any thing we are missing that could solve these issues ?
Well you're going to have to do a bit of coding to get those bits working as Merchello doesn't cater for those scenarios already, however the raw framework is there and you can definitely make it work. Probably you'll need a bespoke product CRUD of some sort.
I wonder what the alternative is. Doing it from scratch I guess? I'd go Merchello if you're prepared to hack, have some skills, and don't have a big budget but it will be a trade-off definitely.
