Merchello running on Umbraco as a service

    Hello,

Just wondering what the correct configuration is for getting Merchello running on Umbraco as a service... I have setup Merchello 2.4.0 through the back office and all seems to be installed correctly in terms of folders/files there both live and local.

I have added transforms to web.config, dashboard.config, ExamineIndex.config and ExamineSettings.config in the /Config directory - but I am getting the following null exception in back office when trying to load Merchello section:

which seems that is missing some configuration.. Am I missing a trick with anything? I did struggle to find any info on this subject bar on the documentation here: https://merchello.readme.io/docs/installation#uaas-installation-experimental-1132

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Danny,

Where did you get the transforms? Did you find the folder in the .UI.Client project?

    https://github.com/Merchello/Merchello/tree/merchello-dev/src/Merchello.Web.UI.Client/src/config/transforms

I have done the install myself a number of times without issue BUT I've not tried with the FastTrack starter kit ... which should work with an additional transform for the FastTrack.config file in the web.config.

    What has worked for me:

    1) Get new Umbraco instance from Umbraco Cloud. 2) Fire it up locally and install Merchello. 3) Put the transform files in the appropriate locations. 4) Commit and push back to dev environment.

The error you posted could be due to a number of things - but I'm guessing it's the merchello.config reference in the web.config.

You might try going through kudu https://[your_project].scm.s1.umbraco.io/ (note the scm in the address) to verify your transforms.

    Yo Rusty,

I did get the transforms from there, but grabbed the latest code from GIT on to my local repository just to be sure after reading this (don't think the transforms even changed though).

I then setup exactly using the steps you have put on a fresh Umbraco Cloud instance and it worked no worries... Can't seem to get the original instance to work though (I believe the only steps what were different was installing Merchello on the cloud and then cloning locally).

It actually breaks Umbraco completely after commit/push to server on the original instance once I add/replace the transforms now - with config exceptions... It's not really an issue though for me in this case, just maybe useful to know.

Thanks for the helpful info again!

    Cheers
