I was hoping to implement an email notification when inventory gets low for a product. However, the inventory count does not appear to be working properly for my install.
When I enabled inventory for a product that previous had it disabled I saw a negative item count. So it appears to have been counting even when disabled.
So I reset the inventory to 10 and save.
I then place an order on the front end that contains this product and go through the entire checkout process paying using Braintree. I check the inventory count and it is still at 10. I then go and fulfill the order.
After fulfillment I go back to the product page to find that inventory tracking has been disabled.
When I enable it again and look at the inventory count it has been reset to original negative amount and decremented, and the low count has been reset to zero.
I've been able to reproduce this a couple times. Is this a known bug? Am I doing something wrong?
This looks like it might be a caching bug. After resetting the inventory to 10 again I reset IIS before attempting to place another order. This time when I checked the inventory afterward it reflected the proper amount.
