    Uforum and MySQL

I am quite new in the umbraco universe and not a shark at programming, however I was wondering whether Uforum only works with MSSQL or if it has been tested with succes in MySQL?

I know the faq says it has been tested with MSSQL and I therefore assume that is the reason why i cannot get it working in MySQL?

    Cheers

I have not tried it on MySQL, so I'm not sure how it would react to that. I _think_ that the code uses the datalayer, so it should be possible, however I'm not sure that the installer uses the datalayer, so it may not create the tables for you correctly.

Have you tried it on MySQL? Were the tables created and so on?

I can see that the installer checks for what database you are using, and will not install it for you. But it does use the datalayer, so if you modify the source a bit, then you should be able to try it out.

As you said, when you try to install the package you get the message: uForum has only been tested with SQLServer, so this package can not install the database.

At my webpage the link: FORUM shows as it should and it links to the following text:

    Forum

Welcome to the forum. Choose one of the forums below to start participating.

    Error parsing XSLT file: \xslt\Forum-overview.xslt

But as you can see I get the error above, which I guess is due to the flawed database install.

If I knew how to modify the source to fit MySQL I would gladly try, but I am not to well equipped in this world. I am merely toying around with a forum solution for a minor site and thought this looked very promising.

But thank you for the fast reply. I will wait patiently for a friendly techie that can alter the program to fit MySQL sometime in the future.

    Cheers
