I'm not 100% sure if this works with media or not and I have not tested it. But I'm 99% sure this will only work with nodes in the content tree.
However you should be able to easily organize your folders in the media archive by going to the "Media" node, right click and select "Sort" and then click "name", which will sort the folders by alphabet.
Not really. We have a lot of press releases and associated media files, I have organised the press releases into date folders to stop them slowing down the backend and wanted to do the same with their associated media but alphabetised.

I would also like to be able to keep a media folder organised by alphabet. Can AutoFolders organise folder in the media section as well.

Did this work for media files? we're about to try the same thing?
tbh I can't remember. We don't use it though but wether that is because it didn't work or we just didn't use it I can't recal.
