I know it might seem like a strange request for a package called "CMS Import", but is there any way you can use it to export data from Umbraco?
I've come across a situation where we need to be able to dump selected fields from Umbraco into a spreadsheet for bulk-edting. These then need to be imported back into Umbraco to make the changes.
Is this possible? If not, something worth considering for the future.
I think you can use those to export data modify it and import it back again. I will not create such a functionality myself because then I would in theory compete with Umbraco Courier and that's the thing I want to avoid.
Thanks for your quick response. You make a good point about not competing with Courier and I can see this would probably be a niche requirement, anyway.
However, the two packages you pointed me to may well give me some pointers on how to write my own mini package to accomplish this task.

Hi Dan,
Have you checked out the community packages xml export http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/eyecatch-xml-export and csv export http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/eyecatch-csv-export
I think you can use those to export data modify it and import it back again. I will not create such a functionality myself because then I would in theory compete with Umbraco Courier and that's the thing I want to avoid.
Thanks for your suggestion!
Cheers,
Richard
