CMS Import v4 - How can I disable update on import
Hi,
Umbraco v8.9 - CMS Import v4 - trial version:
I'm trying to import content nodes via an xml-file exported from an Umbraco v7 installation. Unfortunately I'm getting the following error:
And I can't find any option to disable the update feature. It seems like this part of the import wizard has been removed.
I've also tried to investigate the config files and js file to find out where the update option is set to true as default, but no luck finding this part.
thank you so much for the quick reply. Just to be sure and not make any f*-ups, how should I update? By installing new zip as package or by overwriting every single file?
Really strange just did a test and worked.. Als checked source would only be an issue when you enable content update which is not possible with the free version...
Just tried, same result. Did you have a license in the past? Not sure if xml import will work with the Umbraco File anyway. That's why the Umbraco Dataprovider was written (which is almost ready for V8).
I did not have a license for this specific installation/domain. All I'm trying to do is to move some articles from an old v7 to a new v8 installation. So I tried with the package solution saving content as xml and hoped that I'd be able to import via the CMS Import'er. Would it change anythin if I saved as csv?
Alternatively, do you have any other ideas of how to move the content?
do you have any ideas on how I could solve this issue? .... if it isn't working on the free version, I have a hard time recommending the license to the customer just for importing a group of articles.
I was wondering if you could send me a test xml-file that's working, and then I could edit the actual xml-file to fit (if it's a problem with the xml). Another option would be me sending you the xml-file, so you could do me the favor testing and maybe find the reason why I can't get it to work.
As mentioned earlier I'm working with a package export of content from an old v7.2.

Hi,
The free version should not able to update at all. Can you try with this hotfix version?
Best,
Richard

Hi Søren,
Use the packae installer indeed.
Thanks,
Richard
Hi Richard,
Unfortunately no change at all, same error - Primary key is required when update is enabled.

Hi Richard,
could it be something with the xml-file, which is a dump from an Umbraco 7.2 installation via the old package method?
Would it be possible for me to disable the update feature in the import config og script, just to assure that it has a false value?
