    Additional information on CMSImport PRO

    Hi

We are considering buying the CMS Import Pro. But I haven't found anything around the following features:

    1. Wordpress migration. How does this work?
    2. The entire structure import - What is the key benefit here? Does this make migration for Umbraco instances easier? So we can migrate between Dev/QA/Prod?
The importing of members is the primary benefit we see as will be able to bring members across to the site and this will be in batches of less than 500. So to go to Pro will need a pretty salient reason. We have a number of websites one of which we are migrating over from Wordpress so if we see a real benefit there then the Pro version will be sold on.
    Thanks
    David

    Hi David,

The Wordpress plugin currently imports BlogPosts and Comments from  the Wordpress export file only. The structured import for this case will mean that it will put the correct Comment node underneath the post node. I fyou are using Blog4Umbraco or the Blog starterkit you can import the comments directly in the comment table that these packages are using..

During Import CMSImport will also fix some markup issues since Wordpress does that when rendering the page.

If you think this is to limited, I would love to know what you think is missing and if you can provide me the Export files and some background info how some features work in Wordpress I can extend the Wordpress functionality for CMSImport without any extra costs for you.

    Thanks,

    Richard
