Great question, Currently it is only possible to have the , and ; as seperators. I will create an option, or config where you can specify your own characters for a next release.
I am using CMSImport to schedule a daily import of CSV file from a supplier. The only problem is that they use ^ as their field separator (and they won't change it). Is there any way that I can add this to the list of field separators, I've had a look in the config file and the manual but couldn't find any reference.
The import works fine when I change the ^ to a standard separator but I'll have to do that manually each day rather than schedule it.
Alternative field separator
