I had some difficulty locating an example of the spreadsheet for categories needed to follow the structured import examples. Finaly found a glimpse of it in the presentation by Richard Soetema at CG 2012 video.
Mostly I needed to see the "Categories" done as below. The CG2012 video had a 1-second glimpse of your data that set me straight. Perhaps it is given elsewhere and I failed to register its significance.
Ah ok, yes it's mentioned in the video (which is much easier to follow than manual) A similar video is on cmsimport.com. I'm currently working on a new site and all product video's will be better integrated.
Structured Import - example in excel

This should be a given.
HI John,
Anything particular you had troubles with that was not in the documentation?
Thanks,
Richard
