CMSImport to create product pages - future plans to sell
Hi there.
I am developing an in depth product site that will have circa 800 product pages - I have been preparing the data in Excel and plan to upload this info via CMSImport.
There is some talk internally of selling these products via the site at a later date.
Does anyone have a steer on whether I should carry on and use CMSImport again later to add price etc. data to my product pages or will it be better to upload to an eCommerce package NOW (I know CMSImport is well integrated to uCommerce) and add pricing later?
This may be better posted to another product forum, but I am very much in data and upload thinking at the moment.
As ever, any thoughts or direction very gratefully received.
If you want to use ecommerce functionality it's better to install a ecommerce platform now, since the various ecommerce solutions require specific documenttypes and a specific structure. CMSImport is compatible with Teacommerce and uwebshop. Ucommerce uses its own datatables and therefore isn't compatible with cmsImport.

Hi Ben,

Hope this helps,
