I'm hunting for a method of performing a CMS Import of a large amount of data over hundreds of Content Pages, preferably programmatically as some content pages are reliant upon the import of data to their parents/siblings already being completed - so I'd look to order the import sequence to accommodate for this.
I have already purchased the professional version as I suspect due to the ordered fragmentation my imports will number above 500.
Firstly, is this possible?
Secondly, am I looking in the wrong place for a guide/documentation?
Yes you could do this. I think you have two options.
using Parent/child imports when you save the definition you can create a child import to import child data. The video on this page explains that with product category/product import http://soetemansoftware.nl/cmsimport/videos
Or you can use the scheduler. first schedule the data that needs to be imported first and then next the data that needs to be imported later. This is a bit more tricky but works for a few customers.
I'm attempting to use the structured import but I'm having a little trouble getting the imported content to the correct place in the content hierarchy, I don't; suppose you have a link to the document you used in the example video so I can compare the layout to my own?
Performing a programmatic import
Hello,

I appreciate any help you can offer!

Hi Chris,
Yes you could do this. I think you have two options.
using Parent/child imports when you save the definition you can create a child import to import child data. The video on this page explains that with product category/product import http://soetemansoftware.nl/cmsimport/videos

Documentation is here by the way http://soetemansoftware.nl/cmsimport/downloads and questions are answered on this forum and always via mail.
Hope this helps you and if not please let me know the types of data you need to import maybe I have a solution then for you.
Best,
Richard
Hi Richard,
Thank you for responding so swiftly!
I'm attempting to use the structured import but I'm having a little trouble getting the imported content to the correct place in the content hierarchy, I don't; suppose you have a link to the document you used in the example video so I can compare the layout to my own?

Chris.
