Sending mails through Exchange 2007 server

While working with UmbImport, I ran into problems when wanting to send emails to people using Exchange 2007 SP1 or later. When sending an email i got thrown this error back:

MailEnable: Message could not be delivered to some recipients.
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

    Recipient: [SMTP:[email protected]]
Reason: 550 5.7.1 Message rejected as spam by Content Filtering.

    Message contents follow:

Received: from winvps0003 ([127.0.0.1]) by home with MailEnable ESMTP; Mon, 08 Mar 2010 11:25:56 +0100
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    From: [email protected]
    To: [email protected]

Im not in a position to setup the exchangeserver of the reciever, so I need to know what makes the UmbImport mailsender unique, to create this error at the reciever.

Did anyone have the same problem? Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

Hoping someone can shed some light on the situation.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Anders,

I know that Exhange can be blocking mail messages. The error message describes that it's rejected due Content Filtering.  Don't know if you or your client have a default "ignore words" list. If so you can modify the template that UmbImport(now CMSImport) is using. You find the template under CMSImport --> Settings

    Hope it helps you,

    Richard

Even if the template is completely empty and the mail im sending contains nothing, its still throwing the error, so it has nothing to do with the content of the mail, which is very odd when you look at the error message. Thats why im looking for what makes the mails from CMSImport unique.

    Best regards,

    Anders.

It seems that you just have to outsmart the Exchange server. I had tried using an empty template and a template with <br> tags, and Exchange doesn't like <br> tags. When using plain text (and more than 1 line of it) there was no problem.

Thanks for the speedy answers Richard.

    Cheers!

Great that you solved it. Let's hope the next service pack will not kill your smart solution.

    Cheers,

    Richard
