Multi-site import, import homepages with domain names

    Hi Richard,

We've used CMS Import a lot, but came across a new scenario that we're not sure how to handle. We're trying to import multi-site content, including multiple homepages and their domain names. Is this possible using CMS Import? We'd like to have a simple import file that lists the homepage content and the domain names per site and have CMS Import bind those domain names in Umbraco.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Hi Zac,

If you have a single file. Take a look at the import content video on https://soetemansoftware.nl/cmsimport/videos and treat product categories as your homepage then it should work I guess?

    Best,

    Richard

There isn't a way to import content to the "root" node. The Location field is always required and there isn't an option to select the root node, you must select a physical node. Is there a way to workaround this? If not, we'll need to move a bunch of nodes back to the root to fix this shortcoming.

    Please advise.

    Hi Zac,

No you need a rootnode indeed. I've assigned a bulkmanager license to your account as well so you can move the nodes after import.

Hope that will work for you.

    Best,

    Richard

    Thanks for your help

I'll check it out and see if it works for our needs.
