Hi all,
I wanted to throw in a suggestion to implement Graph QL into Umbraco. I believe it to be a perfect fit to the platform.
Why?
Umbraco already has a great doctype building solution and a relationship manager you then have to turn to code a little more on to implement. One of the sort of missing features for ease of development is pulling data across Doctypes and more complex queries.
Since GraphQL already comes with an interface builder I think it would fit perfectly into the Backoffice and allow developers to form requests through GraphQL and then be able to execute that compiled Data into Razor.
It would also be a bonus addition with the Umbraco Headless currently in development. I think it feels like e perfect fit for me and I would love to see this in Umbraco 8.
Umbraco HQ is all for it but don't have the time to implement so it will have to be community driven. Some good discussion going on in the above post and your thoughts and ideas are very welcome :-)
Thereby not saying that it would be an easy task but some clever minds have started sharing their thoughts at least and I think that's a good first step.
This topic was created in the wrong forum. This forum is about Datefolders, not Umbraco itself.
I'd suggest to recreate this topic in the appropriate forum :-)
No need to recreate - Just take part in the already ongoing discussion that I linked too in my initial response. No need to have the same discussion spread over two threads? ;-)
In earlier versions of the forum admins could move posts into other categories but that does not seem to be a feature currently. Don't know if the topic creator can do it if they edit their post though.
The forum search is a bit crap, I did - Jan link set me right request.
With it being in the wrong place is also problem with Umbraco site. I searched in google feature requests. Got a page about it on Umbraco site and it sent the link to post here.
I have already reported the link.

Hi Liam
You're certainly not the only one who is thinking that is a good idea - Pete Duncanson started the discussion shortly after Codegarden this year here https://our.umbraco.com/forum/extending-umbraco-and-using-the-api/92236-getting-graphql-into-umbraco
