I sure can, won't be before tonight as I'm on some deadlines. Rather do this by mail if that's ok? Can you send me a short mail at dirk at netaddicts dot be?
It may be a bit outdated, but majority of the post will still be valid. I'll set up a reminder to search my mailbox for relevant install instructions. Have sent it to a couple of people, so I should be able to find those
I have received instructions and can confirm that all works well after the config - I'm a bit reluctant to publish them publicly though as Dirk probably has a reason for not doing so yet. grabbing him via twitter (http://twitter.com/netaddicts) may be the best bet.
Just send me a quick mail at dirk at netaddicts.be and I'll get you a copy of the install instructions as I've sent to Dan 2. But, it's not a thorough guide (altho Dan has been able to put everything up).
On the other hand, I'm thinking of redeveloping the package (almost from scratch) which makes more efficient use of advanced features which were not available when I first released the package (it was a conversion of a v3.x package)
If you can hold your breath until end of this month, and are willing to pay a small amount (as it may turn into a "commercial" package)... then I'd wait for the next version, otherwise I'd be happy to send the instructions for the current release. (I've had a test site which could be used to see the "package" in action, but due to hosting provider change, this site is no longer up and running).
Thanks for the reply, Dirk. I did manage to get most of the package running, but it took a bit of hacking (as I only have VS2008 and it was a VS2010 project).
However, it was only as research for a forthcoming project I'll hopefully be working on. The fact that you are redeveloping it soon makes me think it would be better hanging on. The source code I saw looked high quality, so I'm pretty confident you will do a good job!
So, thanks again for the help, and I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with for the final release. Good luck!
Some hints
Hi Dirk,
I know its in a early beta, but can you provide some hints how to set this up after compiling?
Just some quick configuring steps would be nice.
Nico

No worries, I did compile the 4 dlls and I set up the download.aspx in the /umbraco dir.
I found this post where I can start with. http://www.netaddicts.be/articles/how-to-protect-your-media-files.aspx
Is it still valid?
I just play with it a bit. When I'me stuck you can expect a mail :-)

Hi Dirk
I wonder if you have installation instructions kicking around? A client of ours is demanding requesting something like this!
Dan
Hi Dan,
Just added to my list of to do's... can you send me your contact details via mail or twitter?
Cheers,
/Dirk
Hi Dirk, or anyone else who has succesfully installed and has Protected Media running...
Just a msg of hope for some documentation or steps to install, configure and use this excellent project in the foreseeable future.
Thanks
Josh
Yes, can I second that - any instructions gratefully received. May as well post them publicly here so everyone can benefit.

Thanks Dan - I'll give him a tweet and see what he says.
