Since 4.6 it's possible to add properties to inherited tabs, but those properties are not visible on the standard values page. Here is a sample:
Property on the documenttype:
Properties on the page:
Properties on the Standard Values:
It would be nice if the inherited properties could also be supported.
And if you are going to create a new version you can also add support for the TinyMCE editor again :).
