After I watched your screencast ( thanks for it) I a think simple usercontrol, which can be placed as property to product page will be usefull, becouse if you have shop with 100 products is hard to add key for each product manually. Also If anyone add product, it can forgot to add key to counters.

@petr - it ships with an add to cart usercontrol which you just pass [#pageID] to the appropriate property.

I write about uCounters. Will be nice if you can add counter usercontrol to product's backend page, where editors can set how much items are in stock.
