    uSync 407 issue

    Good morning all,

Got a strange 407 issue that we are trying to diagnose for one of our clients. We've used the handy DiagTool to try and see why 2 of our servers can't talk to each other.

We were wondering if anyone has any experience diagnosing this:

    enter image description here

I'm by no means a server guy, so this is more than likely an issue with the way the server has been set up than a uSync issue, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Rob

    Hi Rob,

its likely that the server has some other form of authentication infront of the URL - either in terms of a "physical" firewall or proxy or maybe Active Directory or other auth provider on umbraco ?

if you have another auth provider in umbraco then you may want to exlude the /uSyncRecevie/ route from that auth ? as it has its own auth/signing etc to talk between servers.

also just to check i am not 100% sure if the uSyncDiag.exe file works with Umbraco 9 sites, I haven't checked it to be honest

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the speedy response as always! I should have mentioned that this is an Umbraco 8 site so the tool should be working correctly?

I'm going to pass this information on to their server technician as it's currently being hosted on-prem.

    Thanks, Rob

This ended up being a server issue, there was indeed a proxy set up (it's a new server so the technician was getting to grips with it) upon it's removal uSync could communicate with the destination site.

He said that the diagnostic tool was the key to resolving this issue, so thanks again!
