I am using Umbraco 8.0.2 and trying uSync 8.0 to sync between dev/uat environment, however I got the below error when I click on uSync option in the setting menu on my uat machine.
uSync works perfectly on my dev machine (http://localhost:44444/umbraco) but not on my uat machine (http://example.com/project_a/umbraco).
Moreover I have tried to modify the ~/AppPlugins/uSync8/backoffice/uSync8/uSyncDashboardController.js on my uat machine (and reload the app pool), but seems like the setting are not being used. (one of the changed line: 'view': 'Appplugins/usync8/settings/default.html',), I have even deleted the mentioned js file but issue remains.
The only different I could tell is my uat site is running on alias 'http://example.com/project_a/' and I am not sure if it is the case.
removed every lines within uSyncDashboardController.js + recycle app pool and nothing is changed

I guess this is a bug that uSync may not serve IIS alias welly, it cannot serve "~/app_plugins/uSync8/backoffice/uSync8/uSyncDashboardController.js" correctly when the project is not under the root path of the url, thus it choose to use the default setting.
