News articles and events are big. I think they are really two distinct features though. For example, in my last website I did, all current news articles were summarized on a single page, and you could drill down to see more. A picture and a page of text was common for each news article.
Events on the other hand was a bigger undertaking. Each event was just a short time and description, but there were several each day, some recurring throughout the week/month. So a calendar and agenda like view was necessary on the frontend. And the backend required special code to manage recurring events.
It's a big undertaking, but one of the major things I think Umbraco is missing. It's actually the only thing I miss from DotNetNuke.
Thanks for trying the package and providing feedback
@Anthony -I've just released version 1.1 that includes an Article List functionality. I also decided to add a EmailForm to support basic contact form functionality, there are 5 textbox or textarea boxes with configurable labels and mandatory text.
Roadmap
I always like to note some potential new features. If any get enough feedback I'll implement them
Anything else?
I would be extremely glad with a News Articles package. Almost every website I built needs this.

@Dah - Agreed, event functionality can be quite complicated. I'll not be tackling this in this package as I don't think it's in most 'Standard' websites. However, I think there is event functionality in http://our.umbraco.org/projects/starter-kits/business-website-starter-pack.
Thanks again both for the feedback,
Chris
