What is the exact version of Umbraco you're using? The above issue sounds like something I've noticed in a previous version - I just tried running through the content tour in the latest release 7.12.3 and the issue did not come up. So I suppose it should be fixed in this release at least.
In that case it's a known bug, which it turns out I have actually reported myself a while back...No wonder this rang a bell in the back of my mind :-) - It's been fixed in the 7.12.2 release by Chris Houston - The old issue filed can be seen on the old issue tracker here https://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-11409
I love that you're using the tours to get up to speed on how to use Umbraco and setup now document types etc. - That's really nice :-)
But in order to have the issue you experience fixed you'll need to do an upgrade - Or maybe start over on a fres install of Umbraco 7.12.3 if what you're currently doing is for learning purposes only. If it's no issue for you to start over on a fresh installation then I think that it might currently be the way to go before trying to do an Umbraco upgrade - Not that it's a hard thing to do but maybe it's better to focus on learning how to use the backoffice at the moment...:-)
That's great, thank you very much! I'll ask my manager if we can have a fresh one for me to play with - upgrading probably is a little beyond me at the moment ;)
If starting over does not work out then don't be afraid to ask how to approach it. But currently you'll probably rather spend the time having fun and investigating how it all works I reckon :)
Getting started tour
While attempting the tour, during number 3 Create Content, there is a broken link or some-such for step 3/7 and a message appears:
"Oh, we got lost!
We lost the next step Create Home page and don't know where to go.
Please go back and start the tour again."
I did try a couple times as it suggested it but I cannot progress past this stage. Please help!

Hi Jan,
Thank you for your reply. We're using Umbraco version 7.12.1 (on this particular site I'm working on at least).
I'm a total beginner so while I am editing content etc, I was trying to learn as much as I can so I can do more!
