Here's an issue that may have caused my clients to think that content was not being published. I have 4 blogs, siblings, installed under home. When I go to the folder structure of Blog 1, 2, 3, or 4, and right click on either the month or date to create a post, it appears to always be created under the Blog 4 folder structure.
This doesn't happen when you right click the blog landing node -- it puts it in the right place.

As a work around, could you disable creation of posts under a month node?
I just told my clients not to do it : ) Simple. Thanks!
