If we change the post date of a published blog post, the post will get moved to a new folder but the Link to Document does not get updated. How do we update the URL when editing the post date ?
If the post exists in the folder 2013 / April / 03 with the date 2013-04-03, when we change the date to say 2013-05-08 and republish, then the post gets moved to a new folder 2013 / May / 08, the post date is correct, but the URL stays '/media-centre/news/2013/april/03/new-post/'
1. Try clicking publish again to see if it changes the url.
2. Also, instead of clicking publish the first time, try clicking save first.... that should move the node... then click publish... that should change the url.
Ah well that makes a big difference.... datefolders functionality has always been shaky in all datefolders packages... different tradeoffs all over the place.
Have you been able to make any headway on this issue? I am having the same issue but it looks like it has leaked into my textpage doctype. Whenever I move a node from one folder to another in the tree, I have to unpublish then republish the node to get the URL to update. Any ideas would be helpful.
Umbraco: 4.7.1.1 uBlogsy: 2.1.0.0
I plan on upgrading Umbraco but we are over 10,000 content nodes and adding more daily as we are importing a lot of content.
uBlogsy post URL not updating

Is this a caching issue?
Try republishing?

Can you try 2 things for me...
1. Try clicking publish again to see if it changes the url.
2. Also, instead of clicking publish the first time, try clicking save first.... that should move the node... then click publish... that should change the url.
1. Didn't work.
2. Tried Save (changed the folder structure), then Publish (didn't change the URL).
Thanks.
I'll take a look.
I'll spin up a new Umbraco website and install uBlogsy again, this will hopefully show it's something we've done....
forgot to ask..which version of umbraco and ublogsy for your original prob?
Umbraco 4.11.5 & uBlogsy 2.1.1.2
Ah well that makes a big difference.... datefolders functionality has always been shaky in all datefolders packages... different tradeoffs all over the place.
This might not be an easy fix if at all.

My only suggestion is to disable ublogys's datefolders and try one of the other ones. Sorry, it's probably not the answer you're looking for.
is working on a reply...
