Currently running 7.0.2 assembly: 1.0.5129.19829 of Umbraco with uBlogsy 4. When I create a new post, the post is created but there's a second post created under the same year / month / date folder that is completely blank, no node name or any content. Since the v7 UI only allows you to click on the text of a node (and not the node row) the node can't be edited, then again even if I could I wouldn't.
This is a show stopper bug for me, anyone else experiencing it? Any recommended fixes?
I too have the same issue. To delete the nodes, i actually had to open the database and manually find the nodeID and all of its links then delete each one.
Any idea on the cause of this and planed date for fix? This is a show stopper for us as well.
Hi Dima, looks to be very similar issue. I went into uLoremsy.config and sent enable=false, I was able to create post without duplicate but it wouldn't let me publish as it kept telling me the Post Info > Post Date was empty even though it wasn't.
Looks like uBlogsy is close but not actually v7 compatible yet.
This is another bug, validation/interface one. Just add a space there and delete it. Or copy datetime string, remove it, and paste it back. Validation will pass and it will work.
I haven't tried it, but if you are lucky, uBlogsy is not tied internally into uBlogsyPostDate, then you can just uncheck Mandatory field (or even remove it) - and change your views to render date from creation date - if uBlogsyPostDate is not set. Even if it's internally tied, you can hook your own code on node creation (like uLoremsy does) and fill it from there (this time without duplicating node, lol).
I've been wishing it to JUST WORK for few years already. This tactic doesn't seem to work. Fix it yourself :)
I am also getting the same issue when running v4 in Umbraco 7 but I have not installed uLoremsy.
However I also get empty records created when I create either a new author or a new category but not when I create a new tag. I have moved the blog out of 'sample site root' and under a 'media centre' folder.
I did not try the blog (in terms of creating empty nodes) before I moved my blog.
Apologies Dima, I checked the uninstall tab of the uBlogsy and saw the uLoremsy files listed. I thought this was a separate project that users had downloaded.
I see there are lots of enabled="true" listed in the uLoremsy.config file, which one are users setting as false, as I tried the following which seemed to work:
>The empty node does not appear if you use the ublogsy dashboard creation tab. Your dashboard creation tab, as far as I remember, hardcoded to create node as admin, not as current user. This makes it unusable in multi-user environment. (same for permissions)
>I've added a new uLoremsy config file to the hotfix list which should fix your issue. As far as I can see it just disables uLoremsy for blogpost. It indeed should fix issue, like was adviced in this thread earlier. But having to enter PostDate field manually is really inconvenient (because of bugs).
>The date field validation error is an Umbraco 7 UI bug. Have you created a Bug in umbraco issues tracker, or should we do this?
Summit, just disable uLoremsy all together, duplicate posts will not be created (it is mentioned in this discussion already I believe). You may also consider scrapping uBlogsy altogether and using the simple approach to blogging like it's done in one of v7 starter kits (it has functioning news section). You wouldn't have Examine out of the box to search through your articles, but until you are not into thousands of posts, this should not concern you.
uBlogsy + v7 = duplicate empty post created
Hi there,

But I agree with you, user-friendliness is below.
Unfortunately that works for me but doesn't work for clients (usability wise). Thanks for the tip though...

If you are "running v4", uLoremsy is automatically installed for you. Are you sure you actually are not using uLoremsy?

Is't possible to disable it?
Yes.
I can confirm that I can replicate this empty node issue. This is a bit frustrating.
There are a couple issues here...
The empty node was created when right clicking the landing node. The empty node does not appear if you use the ublogsy dashboard creation tab.
uLoremsy does it's work after a node is created. So it looks like Umbraco 7 creates an empty node behind the scenes or something like that.
I've added a new uLoremsy config file to the hotfix list which should fix your issue.
The date field validation error is an Umbraco 7 UI bug.
>The empty node does not appear if you use the ublogsy dashboard creation tab.
Your dashboard creation tab, as far as I remember, hardcoded to create node as admin, not as current user. This makes it unusable in multi-user environment. (same for permissions)

Have you created a Bug in umbraco issues tracker, or should we do this?
Just curious - has there been any resolution on this issue in Umbraco 7.1.4 or the upcoming 7.1.5?

is working on a reply...
