today I tried to play a bit around with uBlogsy on a new 7.2.8 installation and wanted to give some feedback from my perspective:
Why does uBlogsy delete templates/partial-views/grid-editors/etc which are not part of uBlogsy itself?
I installed a fresh Umbraco 7.2.8 version, installed uBlogsy, deinstalled the package and uBlogsy also deletes als of Fanoe's startetpack nodes.
2.
I'm not a umbraco expert and because of that the setup with the templates uBlogsy uses is really complicated.
There is a Master.cshtml-file which has no use, it only renders a section from it's child-template which also only has a and then a section to load.
I think it's unnecessary to do that. Without als those sections it would be really easy to simply "move" the blog node below my own master, but because of those sections I'll have to alter all templates. Not really usability friendly in my opinion.
Beside those two points I really like the options uBlogsy gives and the PartialViews delivered with it.
Will use it in future projects more often soon.
Feedback: Deinstallation + usability
