thank you! This package adds exactly what's missing for me in Umbraco (mostly, page elements & reusable content) and is a great source of learning and inspiration for me as a developer new to Umbraco.
Do you have plans to release this package for Umbraco V8 at some point?
Thanks, always feels good to have your work appreciated (even when it's stuck to pre-Umbraco 7.6 versions :) )
Yes, I'm planning on releasing a v8 edition - actually I was planning to release a version compatible with 7.6+ but due to huge workloads this went so back that v8 came into stage - so I'm now in the process of converting all satellite assemblies to v8 and then convert the site itself.
I have no ETA for this but I'm not going to delay it until v9 this time :) :)
I have not tested this on Version 8 as it is , but sure would like to see it out on Version 8 as the interface for Umbraco is so much cleaner in that version .
I am going to be testing out on 7.5 to see if I like it - I do like the demo site though.
As we are are a year from last mention , just a quick question if you will have an eta ? I would love to give it a go on 8.6.3.
Hello Sotiris Filippidis
I noticed your comment:
"I have no ETA for this but I'm notgoing to delay it until v9 this time "
I am thinking since 8.8 is on Nuget right now .. that this wonderful thought of yours has transformed into the world of reality where the whirlpool of spiraling and sometimes unexciting workloads sucks our well thought out intentions into the abiss ..
:-)
Is there anything any of us can do to possibly help ?
Thanks for your interest Ken! While it's true that workloads have taken up time that could be devoted on this, we've not given up! You'll be glad to hear that we're about 95% ready AND with 8.7 features like sections being blocks now. There's a ton of new features on this and we've worked hard to establish a good code base that can be reused (and is already partially used) on our other projects.
I was the only one working on the first version - on this one, we're 3 people and our total time spent on this is 10x the time of the first one. So I hope the result justifies the delay. I hope we're able to release it very soon. I understand we're awfully delayed, but for good reasons!
Umazel Starter Kit for V8 ?
