I am using umbraco v 4.0.4.1 (Assembly version: 1.0.3793.17632). When I click the "Install Now" button to install the Desktop Media Uploader 1.0.1, I get this error:
Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.
Sorry I didn't catch your post earlier, but really glad you've got it working.
The mimetype mapping was going to be my first port of call, but yea, that error seems to be one of those kind of errors (Kinda like internal server error in .net, useless)

Just wanted to add the following:
- I installed Sample AIR Application Snackr, and it worked successfully. So there is no problem installing Adobe AIR Applications.
- I removed Adobe AIR and re-installed manually from Adobe Website, now, when I install the Desktopm Media Uploader, I get the following error:
The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author.
Error# 2032
- Configured the mime types in IIS 6 and web.config for ".air" and "application/vnd.adobe.air-application-installer-package+zip"
I am still getting the same Error# 2032 reported above.
Tarek.
Oh! Problem solved.
I had to configure the mapping on the Web Site Root of Umbraco on IIS 6, I was configuring it on the default website by mistake.
It is working successfully now.
What a great package, thanks a lot !

Glad it's all up and running for you now though.

Matt,
I always had annoying feeling that I cannot upload media easily to Umbraco. Your solution makes me feel better!
By the way, I had to do some google search to find out how to configure mime types for IIS6, as it was not so obvious, to me at least.
Thank you again.
Tarek.
Glad it makes the process a bit easier for you.
Thanks for the tip off on the IIS6 issue, I'll be sure to add a link on the project page for any others are in the same situation.
