When connecting to an umbraco 4.0.4.2 installation, we're not able to see any files beneath the root 'Media folder'. The request itself succeeds (Fiddler), but the response only contains the root Media folder.
Woot! Do you know if "folder" is the default alias in 4.0.x? or did a member of your team change it? "Folder" should be the default in 4.5.x so if it's "folder" in 4.0.x I'll make it case insensitive so that it should work in both. But if you guys changed it, I'll leave it =)
My problem is the same! I named my media folder as "MediaFolder". Desktop Media Picker cannot load folders and cannot uploda files (but any error was retourned).
Is a good idea to parametrize folder name or catch this error?
Media folders won't load - 4.0.4.2

Hey Stefan
And the user you are signed in as definatley has permissions to the Media section? (Thre tree is restricted based upon your users permissions)
Many thanks
Matt
Also, are you using the standard "Folder" media type for your folder structure?
Matt
Yes, the user has permission (Administrator) and it's the default folder type (although the name is "Map", the alias is still "folder").
"folder" or "Folder"? (it should be the later)
Matt
We'll try using Folder in a few :-) Thanks
Thanks, it worked!
You rock mate! :D

Cheers, and glad I could help.

Nope, by default it seems to be 'Folder' indeed, someone changed it (3rd party who did some work for us)
