I have just downloaded the desktop media uploader (http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/desktop-media-uploader) on to my mac (OS X 10.8.4).
When clicking "Install" media uploader in the Media section of our Umbraco backend, i got the folllowing error in borth Chrome and Firefox (newest versions):
