As you have probably noticed - I am a newb at Umbraco and have been charged with evaluating 4 for a new project. We currently run 4 sites for different customers using 2x and 3x and they work fine.
Having installed 4 on a remote server with its db on a different remote server I am now trying to get to grips with addons.
I have downloaded and installed Doc2Form and tried to insert a 'Doc2Form - Complete' macro on a new page. No browser that I have access to (IE9,FF3/4,Chrome) will create any page with any sort of macro on that i can detect - I'm stumped!
Referring back to workitem 29773, will the problem be fixed anytime soon?
The work item you're reffering to is that for Umbraco or for Doc2Form?
When you say you have tried to insert the macro on a new page is that then on a node in the rich text editor field or is it directly in a template?
And do you get some kind of error in the browser when trying to insert the macro? Or isn't there created any macro after the installation of the package?
And is this version 4.7 of Umbraco you experience this on? :-)
Had to install 4.5.2 as we want to use the blog, and that was the latest version I could get the blog working on. So I've installed Doc2Form, maybe I'm trying to use it the wrong way! Are there any docs giving examples of how to use it? What I did was to add a new page in content then add the Doc2Form macro to that page - sounds like that may be wrong! As I said in my post-I'm a newb to Umbraco so really could do with some basic docs showing what the relationship is between Content docs, Templates, Macros, XSLT etc etc and when to use which!
You also need to point to a document type which contains the properties for the form you want to show.
I.e. If you want a comment form, make a document type with properties like "Name", "Email" and "Comment". Then point the macro to that document type and the tab which contains those properties.
I created a new page in the koiak starter pack using the standard template. I tried in both IE9 and Chrome. Click in the content tab box and then the Macro button. In the dropdown I select the Doc2Form Complete, select the Article document type then OK
In IE9 the yellow dotted box appears fine but after publishing, on viewing the page, there is nothing showing on the page.
In Chrome I get the 'Aw snap - something went wrong' page and on refresh I am relocated to the root.
Can anyone point me at what I am doing wrong please

This is reposted from the getting started forum.

Hi Dave
I'm a bit confused here...
The work item you're reffering to is that for Umbraco or for Doc2Form?
When you say you have tried to insert the macro on a new page is that then on a node in the rich text editor field or is it directly in a template?

Hope to hear a bit more from you.
