Did my package work with v710? Even if it did there was no need to install it as v7 has examine dashboard as part of core that also lets you rebuild the index. The core tool also has search facilities can you try searching with that see if it works? Also can you check your log files.
Did you find a resolution? I have a similar problem where the examine dashboard correctly queries content - but my public facing ez search macro returns no results. I'm running v7.1.1.
Found the answer to my own (newbie) EZ Search problem and hopefully this will help someone:
I had to associate a template with the content (document type) that I was trying to expose through EZ search.
Detail:
I had created 2 document types, parent and child - and was using the parent as a collection of child documents. The examine dashboard in v7.1.1 proved my indexing strategy was correct - but none of this worked on the public facing site until I defined a template for my data nodes.
ezSearch upgraded to 7.1.0 Content section not returned in results
I upgraded to 7.1.0 and now when I search, nothing from the Content section is being returned in the results.
I have the indexType set to BOTH, but only the Media section is retuning any results.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the package, but the same problem persists.
Has anyone had the same issue, or have any solutions to my problem?
Cheers, JV
JV,
I am using with 710 and it all works fine, have you tried to rebuild indexes?
Regards
Ismail
Hi Ismail,
I've installed your package: http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/examine-index-admin
I've tried rebuilding the internal index, but the search results still only display items from the Media section.
Have you any suggestions as to why the Content section is being ignored still?
Cheers, JV

HI Ismail,
Your package installed, I'm not sure if it worked, as like you mentioned, v7 has the examine dashboard built into the core.
I tested in the core tool search, and it works. The results displayed are from both the Content and the Media section.
As for the log files, where are they and what should I be looking for?
Cheers, JV
