I am a beginner with Umbraco and with web development in general so please explain step by step. I want to create a sitemap us the Google Sitemap for Umbraco 4 (jesper.com) package. The insulation instructions are:

    1) Install Package on your Umbraco 4 installation (where do I install the package)

    2) Test if it works by accessing http://yourdomain.com/GoogleSiteTree.aspx

    3) Notice if any of the entries shouldnt be in the sitetree.

    4) Submit it to your webmaster tool’s account at http://google.com/webmasters

    5) Return and check if it worked.

Could someone please explain the #1 Install Package on your Umbraco 4 installation. I have the developer password but need to know where and how to install this package. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hi RachelNS

When you have to install packages on an umbraco installation go the delevoper section. When you come into this section, there is a folder called packages.

Opening packages folder gives you several ways to install packages.
The first way is by installing a package found in Umbraco Package Repository. But not if the package does not exist in this Umbraco Package Repository, you can install packages in a different way.

The other way you can install packages in Umbraco is via install local packages. Here you choose to install local package, after which you will be prompted to locate the package you want to install. (The package is saved as a zip file). And as you probably have discovered those can be downloaded from our.umbraco,

Hope this can help you further, and make sense.
    /Dennis

    Hi RachelNS,

Did you get the Google Sitemap for Umbraco 4 (jesper.com) package installed on your Umbraco installation?

I have installed Google Sitemap for Umbraco 4 (jesper.com) package.
