I am having an issue with ImageGen in safari, I read the earlier posts which suggested that it could be due to my code calling ImageGen.aspx
My code was calling IMageGen.ashx I changed to ImageGen.ashx but I am still getting some tempromental behavious in safari, sometimes it works fine sometime i get image not found errors and occasionally the page doesnt load at all.
I am using alot of instances of image gen on the page (18).
What version of ImageGen are you using, and what version of Safari (on windows or mac, by the way)? I haven't seen that problem so any information you can provide will be helpful. Also, any chance you could share a URL where I can view the issue myself?
I'd recommend upgrading to ImageGen 2.5.x as that has a number of bug fixes in addition to many more text options (like auto-wrap, multiple fonts and styles, etc.) However, a word of caution, to add all those cool font capabilities (check the docs for details of how to use them all) there are a few subtle changes to how fonts are rendered compared to the rather old v2.0. Usually these aren't objectionable changes but you'll want to review and possibly adjust your settings slightly.
If 2.5 doesn't sort it out give me another shout and send me a link through my website at www.percipientstudios.com/contact.aspx.
Only recently we have dicvored similar issues on a brand new website (http://www.hogeschoolrotterdam.nl) using imagegen and safari. Both use the newest version. When clicking on e.g. "Open Dag" from the homepage you might get a white page. Then again, doing it again might also serve the page properly. All I know is that turning imagegen off for this site solves the problem. Unfortunately this is no option. We use imagegen for resizing and cropping of all content driven images on the website.
I have read about others dealing with the same problem and also read that the white page could be a bug in Safari. The latter however, I cannnot proof.
If you need any additional information, logs etc, let me know.
The first thing to do is update ImageGen to 2.5.2 (http://our.umbraco.org/projects/website-utilities/imagegen). Your site is currently running 2.0.1 (http://www.hogeschoolrotterdam.nl/umbraco/imagegen.ashx?version) and you're missing not only important bug fixes but also performance improvements.
After you update ImageGen and delete the various 'cached' folders to clear the old cache files you should see improvements.

Hi Doug,
thanks for your reply, I am using v2.0.1 and it is Safari 5.0.4 on the PC and also on the iPad.
The site is for a product launch and so is a bit hush hush at the moment, could I PM you the link? what is your email address?
Thanks again for you help.
